Progress made in dispute over oncology unit at CUH

Talks were held at the LRC yesterday.

The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation are set to recommend proposals to their members in relation to the oncology unit at Cork University Hospital.

It follows day long talks between the INMO and management of CUH chaired by the Labour Relations Commission yesterday.

The proposals include a nurse staffing review, relocation of the unit within the hospital and education and training opportunities.

The INMO say everyone around the talk table was mindful that progress needed to be made.

AUDIO: Speaking to RedFM News, Patsy Doyle of the INMO says the proposals are a first step to resolving the row.
