Proposals to allow vaccinated people dine indoors are unworkable according to a Cork publican

Chair of the Cork City Branch of the VFI Michael O'Donovan was speaking after it emerged the government is to consider allowing fully vaccinated people to dine indoors.

NPHET have raised concerns about the Delta variant of Covid-19 which they are warning could lead to hundreds of thousands of cases if it's allowed to spread.

An announcement is due later today but it is expected that indoor dining will not be allowed to resume until July 19th.

Speaking to RedFM News, Michael O'Donovan says he has concerns about the proposals:

"Everybody has their vaccination certificate cards. I'm not a computer expert but I'd say if I was given a laptop or a computer and a printer, I'd be able to replicate it within a couple of hours. If that's going to be the proof that's needed to gain access to going indoors, I think we're all in trouble because it would have knock on effects too because younger people if they have this false passport, you could say to go indoors, I'd be worried that they may not call for the real vaccine."
