Protest Leeside opposed to the OPW's flood relief scheme
The Save Cork City group says the OPW's planned flood relief scheme will destroy the frontage of many Cork quays
The spotlight is once again back on flooding Leeside after the OPW and a group campaigning against its plans for a €150 million flood relief scheme clashed.
The Save Cork City campaign say the project will create more problems than it solves and destroy the frontage of many quays.
The group are organising two human chain protests today - one on Sullivan’s Quay at 11 o'clock and the other at Fitzgerald’s Park at 1 o'clock to raise awareness of the issue.
The OPW have hit back saying the use of glass walls along the quays are too costly..
Polly Magee of the Save Cork City group told RedFM News that they remain opposed to the design.
