Protest to take place in Knocknaheeny to highlight concerns for road safety

A protest will get underway on the Northside of the city this afternoon where a local road has been likened to a raceway track.
Knocknaheeny locals will gather on Kilmore Rd at 4.30pm amid ongoing concerns for road safety on the road and in the area.
It comes after a six-year-old boy was taken to hospital after being knocked down on Harbour View Road on Tuesday evening.
Earlier this year 16-year-old Kimberly O’Connor lost her life when the car she was travelling in collided with a wall on the same road.
Speaking to RedFM News Cllr Tony Fitzgerald says residents feel they have no option but to stage these demonstrations to encourage motorists to slow down - press PLAY
