Public meeting to be held in Cobh amid ongoing homeless crisis

The anger of people impacted by the housing and homeless crisis Leeside is palpable.
That's according to Karen Doyle of Unite Community Cobh, who was speaking ahead of a public meeting in the town aimed at establishing a local campaign to put pressure on City and County Council and the government to address the housing needs of people in Cork.
The group say they are willing to engage in direct action following the latest record homeless figures which show there were 422 adults living in emergency accommodation in the city and county.
Speaking to RedFM News, Karen Doyle from Unite Community Cobh says people are fed up of the current situation:
The meeting is taking place at the Great Island Community Centre at 7pm. Guest speakers include Fr Peter McVerry from the McVerry Trust and Catriona Twomey from Cork Penny Dinners
