Public Urged To Look In On Elderly Neighbours Ahead Of Storm Brian

The public is being asked to continue to check on vulnerable neighbours in Cork as Storm Brian looms.

That's the message from the ESB and Irish Water who are continuing to work alongside the Defence Forces to restore power in the aftermath of Storm Ophelia.

Many elderly people across rural parts of Cork have been left isolated by lack of phone services and power points to charge mobile phones. 

Listeners are being urged to check on elderly neighbours to assist them make contact with service providers by calling the freephone numbers provided.

Speaking to RedFM News the ESB's Denis Cambridge says until full power is restored to the grid, neighbours should look out for each other:
