It's after the Minister for Culture Josepha Madigan suggested that staggering closing times could make it easier for the Gardaí and taxi drivers to deal with people on the streets.
Delegates at the Vintners Federation of Ireland's AGM, which was held in Cork City this week were told the Federation have requested an urgent meeting with the Minister to discuss the matter.
A spokeSperson for the VFI confirmed to RedFM News that Josepha Madigan is yet to respond to their request.
Speaking to RedFM News, City Centre publican and Chairperson of the Cork VFI Michael O'Donovan says the Minister's proposals came as a surprise to them.
