Rapid HIV tests proved successful

The results of the test are known in one minute and have helped reduced the stress associated with taking the test
People no longer need to take HIV tests in secret.
That's according to the Cork Sexual Health Centre who say rapid HIV tests have proved successful in reducing the stress associated with taking the test.
The results are known in one minute, and involve a fingertip prick to take a small sample of blood.
Regular testing and condom use are the key to reducing the spread of HIV among those who are sexually active.
Speaking to RedFM News Deirdre Seery from the Cork Sexual Health Centre says outreach testing has helped remove the stigma associated with the disease.
