Recommendations due over city boundary debate

It's expected the Boundary Review group will make their submission to the Environment Minister this week.

It's hoped the debate over the city boundaries and the possible merger of Cork City and County Councils will be one step closer to resolve this week.

It comes as the Boundary Review group are due to make their recommendations to Minster for the Environment Alan Kelly.

A last ditch appeal has been made by the Lord Mayor Cllr Chris O'Leary to the group to oppose a merge, elsewhere two of the developers behind a series of planned  transformational projects the city in the next few years have warned that any amalgamation could be hugely damaging for business.
