Repair costs for vacant social houses in the county exceed national average
Costs in the county are the highest in the country.
The cost of returning a vacant council house in the county back to the standard required for a new tenant to move in, is well above the national average.
In other parts of the country, it costs around 18,000 euro to restore the property for use by another tenant while in the county it costs 28,000 euro.
Figures from the end of last year show that there are over 6,500 people on the social housing waiting list in the county.
