A report into the Cervical Check controversy is expected to find ‘serious system flaws’ in the screening programme.
It also criticises the failure to tell the women affected about new information, but it doesn’t single out any individuals for blame.
The report into the controversy will be published this afternoon shortly after midday
Cork man Stephen Teap, has indicated his satisfaction with the report following a five and a half hour briefing in Limerick yesterday with the report's author
The meeting with victims and their families was brought forward by 24 hours after aspects of the report were leaked to the media
Emma Mhic Mhathuna, who has terminal cancer, was one of the women given the incorrect smear results.
