Reports expert group are to recommend council merge

It follows a long running debate over the city boundary.
The merger of Cork city and county Councils still remains a decisive issue despite reports that the Boundary Review Group is recommending the amalgamation.
It's being reported in today's Evening Echo that the expert group will recommend a merger to the Minister for the Environment Alan Kelly.
However, it's understood that two of the five members are opposed to creating one super council.
Commenting on the reports to RedFM News, Lord Mayor Cllr Chris O'Leary says he hasn't seen the document and nothing has been confirmed yet but if the reports are true he feels a great disservice is being done to Cork.
