Restaurant group to meet Central Bank to seek support for legal action against insurance firms

The Restaurants Association intents to take test cases on behalf of a group of around 400 businesses hit by the pandemic.
Its legal advisors say they have policies with identical terms to the four firms which won a case against FBD last month,
Adrian Cummins, chief executive of the Restaurants Association, says going to the courts may be the only way to save many businesses:
"Unfortunately, we have to take this action to the courts, which we don't really want. What we really really want is the Central Bank to step in and act on behalf of insurance industry customers. We want to do this in a structured manner, in a swift manner, and we want to get these businesses all over the line so that they can get some sort of recourse financially so they can keep their business afloat."
