Restaurants Association Of Ireland Is Latest To Hit Out At Recent Delay To Events Centre

The Restaurants Association of Ireland is the latest to hit out at the most recent delay to the highly anticipated Events Centre.
The delay follows a request from planners for developers to supply a report on the potential impact of the development on two conservation areas in Cork Harbour.
Prior to this the project hit a major stumbling block when €9 million of a €30 million state funding package was classified as a loan.
Concern is mounting among traders in the city who say they're banking on the venue to boost their businesses and as it's now been over three years since the sod was turned they're losing hope it will come to fruition.
Speaking to RedFM News Lord Mayor Cllr John Sheehan says while there are reasons for the delays, it is frustrating for everyone involved:
