Risk of localised flooding as snow thaws

Snow across the country is due to start melting today.
The city was hit by flooding this morning at Morrison's Island, Father Matthew Quay, South Terrace, Lapp's Quay & Wandesford Quay but this has since receded and the areas are now clear.
High tide returns after 7 o'clock this evening and these areas may face further flooding.
The county meanwhile escaped flooding this morning, however flood barriers are in place in Mallow as a precautionary measure.
A status orange warning is still in place for Cork and the while there are improvements on roads in the city and some secondary routes, some of the roads remain impassable but routes should improve as the snow thaws.
However, Gardai are advising motorists to take extreme caution on all roads due to the possibility of black ice.
Met Eireann forecaster Vincent O'Shea has the latest.
