'Rogue Trader' Slams Mortgage Write Offs
'Rogue Trader' Nick Leeson has slammed the practice of parking debt on mortgages. The former broker who famously caused the collapse of Barings Bank in the 1990s says kicking the can down the road is not a sustainable option. It comes after a Cork family had close to 200,000 euro written off their mortgage last week with a further The family of four will now have some of the debt set aside as part of a split mortgage for a period of 30 years.
