" A day I will never forget"

That's how Ronan O'Gara described becoming the 4th sporting person to ever reecive the Freedom of Cork City...

He joins sporting legends Roy Keane and Sonia O'Sullivan who were bestowed with the award in 2005 and Seán Óg Ó hAilpín who received the award in 2011.

The 40-year-old was honoured in recognition of his legacy to Irish sport which began with Munster Rugby in 1997.

In his acceptance speech he reminded people that he played a team sport and said he would not be in City Hall being honoured without his teammates...

Speaking to RED FM News, Ronan says the ceremony brought back great memories;
