Rotating Taoiseach concept on the cards in coalition talks

It's understood that the Fine Gael party are warming to the concept of a rotating Taoiseach position. 

A 50/50 Fine Gael, Fianna Fáil split looks set to be discussed as government formation talks continue this week. 

The Irish Examiner reports that Enda Kenny is to make an offer to Mícheál Martin ahead of his departure to the US for St Patrick's Day celebrations which would foster the beginning of coalition talks between the old rivals. 

It's expected that Enda Kenny will remain on as care-taker Taoiseach when the Dáil reconvenes on Thursday as it's unlikely he will have enough support to be re-elected to the position. 

However it's understood that the Fine Gael party are warming to the concept of a rotating Taoiseach position. 

Irish Water is tipped to be the major sticking point between the parties who both have opposing stances on it. 

Speaking to RedFM News Defence Minister Simon Coveney says his comments about entering into talks about the charges didn't signal intent to abolish the controversial fee only a willingness to discuss the matter with other parties:
