RSA appeal as motorcycle fatalities on the rise
A huge spike in the number of motorcycle fatalities has prompted a joint appeal by the Road Safety Authority and the Gardaí ahead of the forthcoming Bank Holiday weekend. Motorcyclists, scooter and moped users are being urged to bike safely on the roads this Summer following a 70% rise in motorcycle rider fatalities last year. So far this year, two motorcyclists have died on Irish roads including a 27 year old man from Glanmire - he died in an accident on the South Ring Road last month.
