RSA say it could be a record year on the roads in terms of saving lives

The Road Safety Authority says if road fatality figures continue at the pace they're currently at, it will be a record year in terms of saving lives on Irish roads.
Three people have been killed on Cork roads so far this year - that's two less than this time last year.
Last year 187 people lost their lives on Irish roads, 21 of those fatalities were in Cork. It represents a 15% increase in the number of road deaths.
The RSA says they're working to reduce those statistics by implementing the Government's Road Safety strategy which aims to bring the number of road fatalities down to ten a month.
Speaking to RedFM News Brian Farrell of the Road Safety Authority says road fatality figures are showing signs of improvement this year but there's a lot of work to do done and everyone needs to play their part:
