Save Cork City: No Choice But To Launch Legal Challenge Against Plans For €6m Docklands Project

The High Court has granted SCC permission to apply for a judicial review of the Albert Quay plan

Save Cork City have lodged an application for a judicial review into the planning process of the Cork City Docklands to City Centre Road Network Improvement Scheme.

The group say they have no problem with the public realm element of the development, which includes a bus and cycle lane as well as a pontoon on Albert Quay, however they strongly object to incorporating flood defences in the plan.

The Council say the project, which includes works on the Old Blackrock Road and Victoria Road is essential to kick-start development in the South Docks.
