Second bypass in the pipeline for Carrigaline
A Second bypass around Carrigaline may be necessary in the future to facilitate growth of the town.
Calls are being made for a second by-pass around Carrigaline town in a bid to prevent further gridlock that's likely to be created with a planned new school and the completion of new housing.
It comes after County Hall recently agreed to carry out a new traffic study in the town after being advised of ongoing congestion problems on the mainstreet which hasn't been widened since it was built 260 years ago.
It's also understood that the western relief road is at capacity.
Speaking to RedFM News Adrian O'Herlihy of the Carrigaline Business Association says there's an increasing need for a new bypass but they're being told funding is an issue:
