Second round screenings to take place after Carrigaline LIDL worker diagnosed with TB

The HSE say no customers could have contracted the disease.

A second round of screenings will take place this month for workers at a retail outlet in Cork following a confirmed case of TB at the store.

One worker at LIDL in Carrigaline was diagnosed with pulmonary tuberculosis at the end of last year.

The HSE has confirmed to RedFM News that a number of workers had a latent form of the disease meaning they do not have active disease but may have been infected with the bacteria in their system.

They've been offered antibiotic preventive treatment or else chest x-ray follow up for a year  to prevent the onset of the disease.

The HSE say no customers could have contracted TB as the contact time would be insufficient to place them at risk.
