Secondary School Teachers Could Face Longer Hours

It's under a new plan drafted by the Department of Education

The Irish Times reports that the proposals are aimed at ending a dispute over new in-school junior cycle assessment meetings.

The ASTI claims the practice of holding meetings outside of teaching hours breaches a 2015 agreement with the Government on junior cycle reforms. 

It's unhappy with the proposals put forward by the Department, which could result in more class tuition time for its members.
