Secure Rent Campaign calls on Government to regulate rental market

Tenants Leeside are calling for proper regulation of the rental market.
The One Cork collaborative Trade Union group is holding a meeting in Cork this evening as part of their Secure Rents Campaign.
They are calling on The Government to link rental prices to the Cost of living, to revoke the right of landlords to evict tenants for the purpose of sale, and to move from current 4 year leases to indefinite lease terms.
According to a report from Daft.ie rent prices across Cork City have increased by 14%, and trade Union Impact says disproportionate rent increases are pushing hundreds of families into homelessness.
Speaking to RedFM News IMPACT's Joe O'Connor Says renters are unable to afford further increases in rent.
The meeting will take place this evening in The Imperial Hotel at 7pm.
