Seven out of ten Cork employees expect to receive a pay rise in the next 12 months

Colin Donnery from FRS recruitment says the vast majority of employees in Cork feel they deserve a pay rise

A survey by FRS recruitment says 52% of Cork employees would consider a pay cut if their job was at risk and 64% would be open to a reduction in their working week under the same circumstances.

The survey found that many people who have been on wage subsidy schemes haven't received an increase on their wages and are hoping to see one when they return to work post-pandemic.

Speaking to RedFM News, Colin Donnery from FRS recruitment says the vast majority of employees in Cork feel they deserve a pay rise.

"I suppose 69% of people to feel they should receive a pay rise in the next 12 months, and I think, I suppose what you call there's quite a bit of pent up demand there. So a lot of people obviously with the wage subsidy scheme over the past 12 to 15 months haven't received a pay rise. So really expecting a pay rise in the next 12 months.
