Lord Mayor Cllr Chris O'leary has pledged a donation to a reward fund set up on the Neil Prendeville Show this morning in the wake of a vicious attack on a little dog in Mayfield over the weekend..
Gardai are investigating the incident after Marvin, a 5 year old Jack Russell dog, had his throat slashed around lunchtime on Saturday afternoon and was left to die.
He was left behind a bush, thrown in the grass before his owner Slyvia found him.. She was afraid to move him as he was so badly injured but once the guards arrived they rushed him to the vets for treatment but unfortunately he did not pull though and died a number of hours later.
Marvin had to be buried in her back garden over the weekend and she's due to make a Garda statement later which will allow detectives examine CCTV footage.
Speaking on the Neil Prendeville Show Slyvia says she was left sickened by the horrible end to Marvin's life
