SIPTU calling for independent review of proposals for psychiatric unit at CUH

SIPTU has called for a clinical review by an independent expert to examine the proposals for the operation of a new psychiatric unit at Cork University Hospital. Industrial relations issues related to the unit are being discussed at the Labour Relations Commission later this month. However, the union say the matters are of a clinical nature should be examined by an independent expert. Earlier this month, Mental Health Nurse Des McSweeney spoke out on the Neil Prendeville Show about his concerns regarding the new unit. Speaking to RedFM News, SIPTU's Paul Bell explains some of the clinical concerns. Click the PLAY button to hear.
