SIPTU condemn council plan

The trade union have concerns over a planned emergency services plan.
Trade Union SIPTU have hit out at Cork County Council for adopting an Emergency Operations Plan which they claim was done without adequate consultation with emergency workers.
The union say the new plan adheres to a section of the Services Act that their members have been campaigning against and they fear the impact it could have on safety of their members and the public if implemented.
SIPTU say the decision was taken before the new Fire Services National Oversight and Implementation Group, has had time to deliberate on it and they fear it won't result in the best service possible.
Speaking to RedFM News, SIPTU's Con Casey say their members don't agree with the plan as it stands.
