SIPTU members at Tyndall Institute take strike action

It follows a long running dispute over pay inequality.
SIPTU members at Tyndall Institute in UCC are staging strike action today in a row over pay inequality.
The union claim there is a difference of pay between employees at the Institute and those doing similar work on the UCC campus of between 10 to 20%.
However, the unions says the inequality in pay is linked to the way the Institute was historically set out.
SIPTU represents over 70 workers at the research facility and workers are set to take to the picket line from this hour until 5 o'clock this evening.
Speaking to RedFM News, SIPTU's Bill Mulcahy says there have been several attempts to solve the row.
