St Vincent's Centre Cork Staff Staged A Peaceful Gathering Outside Revenue Commissioners Offices
The employees are calling for an end to the 'employment limbo' they say they find themselves in since the Sister's of Charity de-registered as operators of the care home.
SIPTU say workers at the former Magdalene Laundry on St Mary's Road are being denied access to dental and optical benefits despite paying USC since the move in March 2017 and are calling on Revenue to recognise the workers' employment status.
36 of the 50 staff at the centre are members of SIPTU, while the rest are members of the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation.
