Staff at neonatal unit in CUMH praised for their work
Parents of a child who was born premature and cared for in the neonatal unit in CUMH are raising funds for the unit
The parents of a Cork baby who spent the first 132 days of her life in the neonatal unit in the CUMH say there's so much great work being carried out in the unit that people don't know about.
Eva Desmond was born in June 2016, fifteen weeks premature, weighing just 820 grams.
The 14-month-old is now thriving and her parents Danielle and Damien Desmond from Kilbrittan say this is only because of the care she received in the neonatal unit.
A "Burn And Shave" fundraising event is taking place in Bandon Spinfit today from 12 noon to 10pm.
Speaking to RedFM News Danielle says there's so much great work taking place in the unit that people don't know about including donor breastmilk which comes from Belfast.
