Starbucks On Patrick Street Has Closed Following A Three Year Planning Battle

The cafe opened in the former 02 phone shop in 2015.
The operator of the store never applied for planning permission for the change of use of the building.
City Hall referred the case to An Bord Pleanála who found Starbucks was not exempt from planning.
The chain then removed the tables, seats and toilets in order to have the store classified as a shop rather than cafe.
The case was referred to court when the chain failed to close the store in June.
