State's Prisons Inspector Concerned About Delays Reforming Complaints System For Detainees
She was examining the impact of Covid-19 in prisons, and work is now ongoing to finalise a statutory instrument, to put a legal basis behind a new system
The vast majority of complaints per month in 2020 were graded a category C.
Those are service level issues such as problems with visits, phone calls, missing clothes, delayed post, inappropriate exercise time and more.
A new complaints system was originally due to be rolled out by the end of 2019, but this has not yet happened.
