Status yellow snow-ice warning has been issued for 13 counties, including Cork
A status yellow snow-ice warning has been issued for 13 counties.
The warning will be in place in counties in the north-west and midlands along with the south and south-east.
It comes into effect from midnight tonight until 12 midday tomorrow
Meteorologist with Met Eireann Joanna Donnelly says ongoing showers in the North West will potentially impact the area, "Those showers will continue to affect Donegal, Leitrim and Sligo, maybe leading to accumulations at lower levels," she said. "In addition to that we have got a spell of rain, sleet and snow moving in from the west and that's going to go across the country overnight tonight and through the early parts of tomorrow morning. And that's what's going to lead to the potential for some accumulations there in southern parts of Leinster and eastern parts of Munster."
