Steve Redmond Cuts Short Swim To Wales

Illness has forced Cork endurance swimmer Steve Redmond to cut short his attempt to swim from Wexford to Wales. The 48 year old from Ballydehob, was just hours into his attempt overnight when he developed hypothermia and was advised by medics to cut it short. He left Carne Pier in Wexford in the early hours of this morning and was trying to swim to St. Davids in Wales - he would have been the first person to complete the challenge. Steve was raising funds for the RNLI.
