Streets Of Cork Becoming 'Increasingly Unsafe' For Both Members Of The Public And The Gardai
That's the message from Padraig Harrington of the Garda Representative Association
He was commenting on a report carried out earlier this year which revealed chronic Garda shortages in Cork.
The report found that while Cork city had the second highest volume of calls received in the country for the period looked at, it has 125 less Gardai than any of the Dublin divisions.
On Saturday March 20th of this year just two members of the force were patrolling the city centre while the number of detectives in Anglesea Street Garda station has been cut from 30 to 16 in the last five years.
Speaking to RedFM News this morning Padraig Harrington of the GRA says the people of Cork are getting a second class service
