The entire campus would essentially come to a stand still for a day if 800 SIPTU members at the college vote to support the campaign of their collegues in Tyndall Institute.
The row over pay inequality has already resulted in a number of strike days at the research institute.
The union claim there is a difference of pay between employees at the Institute and those doing similar work on the UCC campus of between 10 to 20%.
