Striking Workers Maintain Picket At AbbVie In Carrigtwohill

Workers at a pharmaceutical company in Carrigtwohill are maintaining a picket at the entrance to the building this evening.
It's part of a 36-hour work stoppage at AbbVie Ltd where workers say they've been ignored by management at the firm on a number of issues relating to pay and conditions.
Their case was brought to the Labour Court this year where a recommendation that the company engage with staff was issued, however staff say they have been unable to secure any talks.
Two more 36-hour work stoppages are planned this month, a 33-hour work stoppage will take place on Decmeber 7th and a 48-hour work stoppage is planned for December 11th.
