Student Nurses And Midwives Are Conditioned To Think The 'Madness' In Irish Hospitals Is Normal
That's according to 3rd year UCC nursing student Ethan O' Regan from Skibbereen, who made the comments on the second day of the annual INMO conference in the city.
The INMO released their 2018 Nursing and Midwifery Internship Study yesterday, detailing the future plans of 4th year students.
The results of the study have been described as 'stark' with 71% considering leaving the country to work abroad.
A further 76% say staffing levels are not adequate to support learning and training of students in a clinical setting.
Speaking to RedFM News, student nurse at the Mercy University Hospital, Ethan O' Regan says he's planning on leaving when he graduates:
