Students Relieved Wait For Results Is Finally Over
It was an anxious morning for Leaving Cert students at schools across the city and county this morning as they gathered with their peers to collect their exam results.
6,600 sat the Leaving Cert and Leaving Cert Applied exams in Cork in June and this morning they received their results which are the first to be issued under the new grading system, which has reduced the traditional 14 grades to just 8.
This means from this year any student who fails an exam with an E grade at higher level will secure CAO points for the first time.
Speaking to RedFM News these students, who had just opened their envelopes at Christ King, said they found the new system confusing initially :
