Suspended Bus Services To 'Problem Areas' Of Cork Are Still A Possibility
That's according to the National Bus and Rail Union
At the end of the Summer the union passed an emergency motion which was designed to highlight the type of intimidatory behaviour their drivers are subjected to and to warn people that if it continues services in these areas will be curtailed.
In August the 203 Farranree service had to be suspended after a driver was shot in the face by a child with a pellet gun and the union says drivers need to be supported by a dedicated garda unit on public transport services.
Dermot O'Leary of the NBRU told RedFM News that rather than conduct a blanket withdrawal of services in problem areas from today the union will make a decision on a case by case basis:
