Swimmers Warned Not To Cross Shipping Channels Following Incident In Cork Harbour

A warning has been issued to swimmers not to cross shipping channels following an incident in Cork harbour last night.
It's understood a man was swimming from Cobh to Spike Island and back for a bet but he ignored a harbour pilot boat order to leave the water as a Naval Service vessel and harbour tug were heading up the channel.
Crosshaven RNLI say crossing shipping channels alone is very dangerous and have issued a warning advising against the practice.
