Talks continue this afternoon on fate of Bus Eireann

Unions at Bus Eireann say they fear the company is seeking to become a low-wage operator to compete with private bus companies.

They’ve suspended their strike pending three days of negotiations at the Workplace Relations Commission.

Bus Eireann wants to make savings of 30 million euro a year, including 40 percent on payroll.

Earlier today a demonstration was held Leeside over proposed cuts to Bus Éireann services.
