Tanaiste Answers Questions Regarding Maurice McCabe

The Tanaiste’s position appears safe, after she answered questions in the Dáil last night about her knowledge of a Garda legal strategy to discredit Maurice McCabe.
Frances Fitzgerald published an email she received in May 2015 which mentioned a serious criminal complaint about Sergeant McCabe, which he’s always denied.
The former Justice Minister was grilled about what she knew and when, after the Taoiseach had to correct the Dáil record once he was told about the email on Monday night.
Frances Fitzgerald still maintains she did not know the details of the Garda strategy to discredit Maurice McCabe until May 2016.
Labour’s Brendan Howlin said the email should have rung alarm bells:
