The Tánaiste says the Irish navy will not be sent to protect fishermen being threatened at Rockall.
The Scottish Government is warning Irish boats could be boarded by its navy crews if they don't stop fishing in the waters, which lie around 230 nautical miles off Donegal, and 240 miles off Scotland.
Rockall was claimed by the UK in 1955, but the Irish Government says fishermen have a right to fish there and will take EU court action if Scotland orders them to leave.
Foreign Affairs Minister Simon Coveney says the Scottish Government is making a big mistake:
