Tanaiste Remains Defiant Despite Motion Of No Confidence

Frances Fitzgerald is fighting to save her political career after facing further questions from the Opposition on her handling of the Maurice McCabe controversy.
Sinn Fein has tabled a motion of no confidence in the Tanaiste, unless it’s satisfied with her answers regarding an email from May 2015.
In sharp exchanges in the Dail, Sinn Fein’s Mary Lou McDonald said Frances Fitzgerald failed to protect Sergeant McCabe.
But the Tanaiste stuck to her script and said she could not legally interfere in the O’Higgins Inquiry;
