TDs hire family member as assistants

Two newly-elected TDs have hired family members as Oireachtas assistants.
The Irish Independent reports that Cork South West Fianna Fáil TD Christopher O'Sullivan and Gary Gannon of the Social Democrats have both given taxpayer-funded jobs to siblings.
Deputy O'Sullivan has two sisters working for him while Deputy Gannon has hired his younger brother.
Cork East TD Seán Sherlock has also confirmed his sister works as his secretarial assistant while Cork South West TD Michael Collins says his brother works in the same role.
Hiring family members doesn't breach Oireachtas rules but is considered controversial.
