Tesco employees in Cork are to take to the picket line tomorrow
The action follows the supermarkets decision to change workers pay and conditions
630 workers at six Tesco stores across Cork are to take to the picket line tomorrow.
They're among thousands of Tesco employees that are staging a nationwide protest over plans by the supermarket chain to change the pay and rosters of around 300 staff who were recruited before 1996.
Talks between both sides broke down at the Workplace Relations Commission yesterday and an "indefinite" strike is now planned from 7 o'clock tomorrow morning.
Speaking on the Neil Prendeville Show on Cork's RedFM Lorraine O'Brien of Mandate says they haven't given any valid reason why they want to introduce the changes but there's still hope of averting the strike action.
