The 33rd Dail To Meet For First Time Today With No Leader Expected To Be Named Taoiseach

The 33rd Dáil meets for the first time today with it expected that no leader will have enough votes to be named Taoiseach.

Either Fianna Fáil's Sean O Fearghail or Independent Denis Naughten will be elected Ceann Comhairle.

Sinn Féin and Fianna Fáil have both appointed negotiating teams to try to form a government.

Fine Gael TD Frank Feighan says his party will facilitate forming a government - but only as a last resort.
